Milwaukee has introduced the industry’s most powerful right angle impact wrenches with the cordless M12 Fuel 3/8″ 2564-22 and 1/2″ 2565-22 2565P-22 right angle impact wrenches.
Looking at the above image and considering it’s compact size, it’s hard to believe these right angle impact wrenches are putting out up to 220 ft-lbs of nut busting torque and they’re also 12 volt impacts part of the M12 lineup!
Both models are basically the same unit with either a 3/8″ anvil with friction ring or 1/2″ anvil with friction ring or pin detent. The right angle design not only means they’ll have added access in tighter areas but they’ll also have better reach as well.
Like other Fuel impacts, these also have multiple drives with 4 mode drive control which is basically 3 speeds along with a 4th mode featuring an Auto-Shut Off Mode to prevent over-fastening of bolts, and bolt removal mode for more control after bolt breakaway.
They will be available June 2020 for $299 as kits or $199 as baretools. More details below.

It seems the right angle impact wrench has bigger torque and higer speed than ratchet wrench. Could it repalce the ratchet wrench?
I can see this impact being really useful on high-torque fasteners where space is limited – suspension, chassis and drivetrain work.
The ratchet will continue to have plenty of advantages over the impact:
1. far more compact head
2. shorter in length (non-extended reach model)
3. ability to manually ratchet
4. I assume the impact will not have the fine speed control at low speeds that the ratchet does
