Milwaukee M12 Fuel 5-3/8″ Circular Saw Gen II 2521-21HO – Features
I was highly impressed with the original M12 Fuel circular saw as it used a larger blade than competing 12 volt circular saws. And it had the power to cut through sheet goods and even tear through 2x lumber in one pass! It was impressive to imagine that this sort of performance was capable in 12 volt.
Though it was still far behind from the high performance of 18V tools so any performance improvement would be greatly appreciated. That’s where this new model comes in, the Gen II model combines what made the original great and adds mo’ powah baby!
This new model offers improved performance for increased productivity according to Milwaukee. On top of its solid build quality with sturdy metal upper blade guard and aluminum shoe, it features a dust blower to clear your line of sight during cuts. A dust port and LED light are included as well.
A new feature that’s made its way to this new model is the integrated hang hook so you can hang the tool nearby.
One feature I love about 12 volt tools is their size and the fact that they can store in much smaller spaces.
Runtime is also excellent with up to 190 cuts into 2×4 lumber per charge with a High Output XC 5.0ah battery.

Milwaukee M12 Brushless 1-1/4″-2″ Copper Tubing Cutter 2479-20 – Features
The original M12 copper tubing cutter was also an excellent tool in the early days of M12. It’s still an excellent tool today as it makes life on the job much easier doing the work for you. This new model isn’t just a facelifted model sporting a spiffy new brushless motor, the pipe capacity is larger. While the original is good for smaller pipe from 3/8″ to 1″, this model is the next step up from 1-1/4″ to 2″.
While it does offer a more powerful brushless motor and a larger capacity, I wouldn’t call it an upgrade to the old model but instead it sits beside the original where cutting larger pipe is needed.
Both models can remain in the lineup each with filling a different need. This new models larger cut capacity also enlarges the tool as shown above while the original has a more slimmed down profile.
It can get up to 100 cuts per charge when paired with an XC 4.0ah battery.
