Up until recent years, if you wanted a multipurpose/multi-attachment driver you would only find them in places like the UK and other parts of the world but not in the the USA. How times have changed as Metabo, Fein and Bosch were among the few to bring these multipurpose/multi-attachment drivers to the USA and now Milwaukee brings one to the states as well.

The Milwaukee M12 Fuel installation driver is a very compact screwdriver with an interesting interface head that can accept a 3/8″ drill chuck, a 1/4″ hex chuck, a right angle adapter and an offset adapter basically making it a 4 in 1 tool. Also, both the drill and hex chucks and offset adapter can be attached to the right angle adapter for even more possibilities.

The design of the installation driver itself reminds me of a very short drywall screwdriver minus the cone tip and has a finger guard up in front. I’m not sure why it even has a finger guard, probably for safety reasons to keep your fingers from getting damaged while working but at least they made it useful by adding the built in battery fuel gauge and belt clip on its side and an LED light and a magnetic bit holder for up to two bits in the front.

On top you’ll find the 2 speed selector and an electronic forward and reverse button. Being an M12 Fuel model, you know it’s got a powerful brushless motor and it lives up to that promise with a brawny 300 in-lbs of torque.

It will be available in September 2019 with an MSRP of $229 (kit); $179 (bare tool).
