Milwaukee M18 Fuel Hole Hawg Right Angle Drill 2020 Gen 2 Model Update 2807-22 2808-22

It’s been several years since Milwaukee introduced their original M18 Fuel Hole Hawg right angle drill and now in 2020 they’ve made that great drill even better by updating it to the Gen 2 model in 2020 by making it more powerful than before.

Just like the original, this new updated model is also optimized for electricians. For most applications they drill 7/8″ holes yet it can drill holes larger than that if necessary, up to 2-9/16″ which is a significant upgrade over the original which topped out at 2″ with self feed bits. Milwaukee did this by adding a more powerful brushless motor and they were also able to up the RPM’s to 1500 compared to the 1200 on the original model. Long story short, more power and faster than before! Of course if you need to drill larger holes, you can always opt for their M18 Fuel Super Hawg.

Just like the original you can purchase the Milwaukee M18 Fuel Hole Hawg in keyed 1/2″ chuck (2807-22) or a 7/16″ Quik-Lok chuck (2808-22). As far as runtime is concerned, they claim you can get up to 220 7/8″ holes in SPF lumber with an HO XC 6.0 ah battery.

The Milwaukee M18 Fuel Hole Hawg will be available in June 2020 for $279 as a bare tool and $579 as a Kit with 2x HO XC 6.0 battery packs, rapid charger and tool bag.

The original m18 hole hawg (not super) wasn’t great. Booth guy got us to buy 3 of them years back, with a good caveat of batteries for our department. Burned all three of them up in the span of a couple months doing a 4 bldg apartment fire alarm prewire. They killed batteries like crazy, and they’d cook themselves after 15-20 minutes of punching holes in 1/2″ plywood. Everybody went back to just using their personal cordless drills, and if I recall we only ended up replacing one of the old nicd dinosaurs by the end of the project. I’m sure the new gen is a huge improvement, but I never knew a tradesman that didn’t think that the og cordless hole hawg was crap.
