Milwaukee M18 Fuel w/ One-Key ½” & 3/4″ High Torque Impact Wrench

Milwaukee recently took their original M18 Fuel high torque impact wrench and made it even better with it’s second iteration with even more power and more compact. The question is, how do you make the new model even better? By adding One Key functionality that is. Milwaukee did just that and made a One Key version of the 2nd Gen high torque impact wrench with the Milwaukee M18 Fuel w/ One-Key ½” High Torque Impact Wrench.

This comes as no surprise since we learned of the new One Key high torque impact wrenches during all the new tool announcements at the Milwaukee New Tool Symposium and it was part of Milwaukee’s game plan from the start to make a standard high torque impact wrench and a One Key model.

As part of the One Key features, the new model will have the ability to customize it’s torque and RPM along with the ability to choose from predetermined modes like Lug nut mode and concrete anchor mode. You’ll also be able to track and manage your One Key tool just like other One Key enabled tools through the use of the app.

Of course the One Key functionality isn’t for everyone, nor does everyone need the added functions. Those that do will find them valuable especially for specific and repeatable tasks, while those that don’t can still take advantage of the same model without the added One Key functionality. Options are better for everyone. Another misconception I often hear about One Key tools is that they need a smartphone to operate each and every time the tool is used, however that is not true. The truth is that you need the app to access and set the One Key features but after they’ve been set, you don’t need the app for regular use. In fact the app is not needed out of the box either as the One Key tools are standalone just like the models without One Key, its not until you need to access their advanced features that you need the app, but I think you get the point.

Just like the non One Key model, it will also come in a 1/2″ anvil with friction ring and a pin detent model and they also have 3/4″ friction ring One Key high torque impact wrench. The 1/2″ One Key models will be available in December 2017 while the 3/4″ One Key model will be available in February 2018.

Through One-Key™ users will be able to customize, track, and manage the new impact wrenches. One-Key™ Tool Customization gives users access to a range of predetermined setups like custom drive control, lug nut mode, and concrete anchor mode:

• Custom Drive Control
  • Adjust the RPMs to deliver more control for delicate fastening applications. Adjust the torque and RPMs to achieve repeatable torque results from repetitive fastening applications.
• Lug Nut Mode
  • Eliminate the need for torque sticks by choosing between two settings that will deliver repeatable output on lug nut applications, and check final torque with a calibrated torque wrench.
• Concrete Anchor Mode
  • Select this mode so the tool will automatically shut down once the anchor is seated to reduce broken anchors and stripped material.
