Why should we care about the new Milwaukee M18 RedLithium High Demand 9.0 ah Battery Pack?

Over time, what has made cordless power tools great – their battery because it makes them portable and cordless – is also their weakness. Batteries help cut the cord and give users the ability to work without messing around with outlets and extension cords, and allow users to work in areas where there is no power. But ask anyone who’s used cordless power tools and they’ll tell you about their short runtime, lack of power, batteries overheating, and short lifespan. Newer battery technology such as lithium ion batteries have helped out with the short lifespan issue. Over time these batteries have been getting larger capacities which have made for more powerful and longer running tools. Larger capacity batteries also help out with heat issues and usually run cooler.

Current lithium ion battery packs today have addressed the majority of these battery related issues, and the Milwaukee M18 RedLithium High Demand 9.0 ah Battery Pack will address all of these issues with one monster battery pack that will make M18 power tools worthy of being called “corded replacements” in terms of runtime. Featuring 15 lithium ion battery cells, it makes for a physically larger batter than their current M18 XC battery packs which only contain 10 battery cells, the new Milwaukee M18 RedLithium High Demand 9.0 ah Battery Pack will harbor 9 amp hours of capacity.

Benefits include:

  • Up to 5X more run-time
  • Up to 35% more power
  • Runs up to 60% cooler
  • Up to 2X the performance of M18 REDLITHIUM XC5.0
  • Delivers more work per charge of any 18V battery on the market
  • Exceeds higher-voltage or multi-battery platform performance
  • Fits all 100+ M18 tools

Out of the gate, it will supercharge all existing M18 tools with the main advantage being much longer runtime with up to 2X the runtime of M18 XC 5.0 batteries. They will run up to 60% cooler which means you will be able to run your tools harder and longer without having to worry about overheating.

Some Milwaukee M18 cordless power tools have been designed with the Milwaukee M18 RedLithium High Demand 9.0 ah Battery Pack in mind and can provide performance of higher voltage cordless power tools. These M18 cordless power tools include the M18 Fuel SDS Max 1-9/16″ Rotary Hammer and upcoming M18 power tools such as the Milwaukee M18 Fuel 10″ Miter Saw, and various M18 Fuel outdoor power equipment such as the M18 Fuel String Trimmer and M18 Fuel Blower.
