Milwaukee Tool invests $35 Million for manufacturing in U.S.A

Milwaukee just announced that they will be creating jobs here in the USA to further drive growth with a huge $35 million invested to get that done. If you didn’t know already, Milwaukee has their headquarters here in the USA and are owned by TechTronicsIndustries “TTI” based in china.

According to Milwaukee they have added 900 jobs here in the USA just in the last 4 years and will continue to drive growth here in the states with the expansion in Greenwood Mississippi. This expansion will create 126 new positions and already 105 of them have been filled bringing the total number of employees in the Greenwood facility up to 508 and a total of 981 employees in the three Mississippi locations.

“GREENWOOD, MISS. – Milwaukee Tool has announced an expansion of its operations in Greenwood, Miss. This, along with other investments to Milwaukee Tool facilities in the state, represents a $35 million investment in Milwaukee’s U.S. manufacturing operations over the last 4 years. Milwaukee Tool has locations in Greenwood, Olive Branch and Jackson.

“Milwaukee Tool is dedicated to driving growth and creating new jobs in the United States,” said Milwaukee Tool Group President Steve Richman. “In the last several years we have created nearly 900 new jobs across the country, more than 250 of which are in Mississippi. We firmly believe that, through investing in our people, we will deliver disruptive innovation and the highest quality products for our users and distribution partners.”

The expansion in Greenwood will create 126 new positions, of which 105 positions have already been filled. This brings the total number employed by the company in Greenwood to 508. Milwaukee Tool employs a total of 891 workers throughout its three Mississippi locations.

    so good to hear more companies are bringing manufacturing back home, I think peoples opinions are changing and are more willing to pay extra for quality goods made proudly by people who care about their quality of work instead of Chinese sweat shops! DeWalt has also made the move, hopefully more big names will follow suit and bring much needed jobs and skills back where they belong! Great write up Javier on a very important piece of news!

    When you are spending your money on power tools keep in mind who owns these tool companies. 1) Robert Bosch owns Bosch, Skil, Dremel and RotoZip- corporate office location Germany 2) Stanley Black and Decker owns Black and Decker, Dewalt, Porter Cable, Bostitch and Stanley corporate office location USA 3) Emerson Tools owns Ridgid* corporate office location USA 4) Techtronic Industries (TTI )owns Milwaukee, Ryobi, Homelite and has been making power tools for Ridgid since 2003* corporate office location China 5) Delta owns Rockwell and Delta corporate office location Taiwan 6) Hitachi and Makita are independently own ( not owned by a huge corperation acquiring multiple tool companies )
