The brand called Ego hit the scene a few years ago in a time when 40V was the next big thing and immediately became a hit with their cordless brushless 56V outdoor lawn equipment. Since then other contenders have appeared with 56V, 58V, 60V and even 80V competition from a few other brands. So to stay up to date in 2016 they’ve come out with updated models with 2 new lawn mowers, a chain saw, and a new leaf blower.
Instead of offering only one lawn mower, now they offer 2 new models both offering an upgraded increased capacity of a 21″ deck and is on par with Echo’s 58V mower with a 21″ deck. The difference between the new Ego mowers is that the higher end model is self propelled. Yes you heard right, your lawn mower pushing days are over with the new model and now you can relax a bit as you don’t have to stress about pushing your mower as it pushes itself. You still have to guide it and turn it – obviously. Both new models come with upgraded batteries with a 5.0 ah on the regular push mower and a whopping 7.5 ah on the self propelled model. Even with the larger cutting capacity you can still expect excellent runtime performance of 45 minutes on the push mower model and up to 60 minutes of runtime of the self propelled model with the 7.5 ah battery. Both mowers feature headlights to help out in low light and on the exterior look identical other than the slightly different color scheme with dark grey rims and front motor on the self propelled model.
One last thing to note is that while the 56V string trimmer is not new for this year, they did upgrade the battery to the new 2.5ah battery.

The new leaf blower gets upgraded power now with 110 mph at 530 cfm’s of air moving force. That’s up from the previous 480 CFM’s of the previous model. Now included in the kit is a larger capacity 2.5 ah battery which increases the run time up to 75 minutes on low.

The new chainsaw also gets upgraded with a new 16″ bar and chain. Not only does it get an upgraded capacity over the previous 14″ model but they also threw in the same size 5.0 battery from the push mower. Larger capacity chainsaw plus more than twice the size of the previous battery.
