New Greenworks Brushless 24V Power Tools

Greenworks is long known for their green outdoor power equipment and also have a cordless power tool line to go side by side with their cordless battery powered outdoor power equipment. Just spotted are a couple of new brushless 24V cordless power tools and a new cordless brushed 24V circular saw and 24V LED worklight. All 24V power tools utilize the same battery pack and are cross compatible with their 24V line of outdoor power equipment.

The new brushless 24V compact drill and impact driver fall under the Digipro name. Because 24V batteries use more cells than 18V batteries along with a brushless efficient motor we can expect long runtimes. The drill is considered a compact drill and features 650 in-lbs of max torque in a compact looking form factor. It’s great performance on paper although not record breaking. What is impressive on paper is the torque stats of the 24V brushless Digipro Impact Driver as it claims a whopping 2,900 in-lbs! That is unheard of! A few months ago Ridgid released their X5 18V impact driver with an impressive 2,000 and that was a shocker. At first I thought it was a typo and was possibly mistaken as the RPM. Just to get this into perspective, the torque number on this new impact driver is comparable to that of similar compact impact wrenches which are intended to provide more torque than impact drivers. Although I’m all about more power as no matter how powerful cordless power tools are getting nowadays I think to myself “more power would be better”, but I’m concerned if this might be too much power for an impact driver designed to run smaller fasteners such as common screws. Too much power can snap heads off of smaller screws.

Also new are a 24V brushed 6-1/2″ circular saw and LED work light. The circular saw has the typical 6-1/2″ blade diameter that is common for brushed 18V circular saws although this 24V model has a higher no load RPM at 4,500 RPM. Spec wise its stats are similar to many 18V brushed circular saws with a 2-1/8″ cutting capacity which is more than enough to cut 2×4’s. The 24V circular saw also features a laser cut line to assist when cutting. Not much is known about the work light other than its an LED work light with a pivoting head and has a 20+ hour runtime with a 2.0 ah battery.
