I just found out that Makita will be releasing a new XUX01Z 18V X2 (36V) LXT Brushless Multi-Function Power Head.
Based on their 18V X2 Platform which uses two 18V batteries together to push 36 volts, it takes the design from their X2 brushless string trimmer and takes away the front end so you can attach different attachments. Makita will have attachments for for trimming, edging, cultivating, and brush cutting. All attachments are also compatible with the new 25.4 cc MM4® 4-Stroke Couple Shaft Trimmer. According to Makita, the XUX01Z will be available in Spring 2018. Stay tuned for more official specs.
