Earlier this year we had learned that Ridgid would be coming out with a new tool box and cooler and now we have the official announcement. The new Ridgid 28″ mobile tool box and the cold box.

Ridgid 28″ Mobile Tool Box
Both of these two new storage boxes from Ridgid are part of their established modular and stackable 22″ Pro storage system. The new 28″ mobile tool box is unique because even though other Ridgid 22″ Pro storage boxes can connect to it, the 28″ mobile is wider at 28″ inches and is also 24″ deep. Though it’s footprint is larger than the average 22″ pro storage boxes, other Ridgid Pro storage can connect to it. The 28″ mobile tool box has a chest like design and has a set of wheels on the right side with a telescopic handle that’s built into the lid on the right side so you may roll the unit away. It’s rated for 100 lbs of capacity. It also comes with a small removable tray for added storage within the box.
Just like the rest of the Ridgid Pro tool storage system, it comes with beefy latches that you can also lock with a padlock, beefy side handles that also double as latches to connect other boxes on top, and an internal lid with water resistant seals.
It is said to be available summer 2021 although I already see it available for purchase at select local stores at time of writing for $55.98.

Ridgid Cold Box
The Cold Box is a cooler that’s also part of the Ridgid pro tool storage system. As you can see in the image at the top of this article, this can stack onto and under other Ridgid pro storage boxes. This Ridgid cold box also is quite unique in a few ways, it’s designed to store food and drink products with thermal insulation that is said to be good for up to 48 hours ice retention. It has an internal capacity of 27 qt and can hold up to a rated 42 cans.
It also has a unique large top carry handle. The top lid also has imprints that act as cup holders although not very deep but still a nice welcome nonetheless. The front latches are made of plastic unlike other Ridgid pro storage boxes but are still oversized. The lid has a spot to use a padlock.
Just like the rest of the Ridgid Pro tool storage system, it comes with beefy side handles that also double as latches to connect other boxes on top, and an internal lid with water resistant seals.
It is said to be available winter 2021 for $59.97.

It was on the website and app but both have now been removed. What’s the chance it got canceled?
They didn’t get cancelled. I wrote the expected launch periods for each box in the article. Both stated for this year. In fact, the mobile box is available in a handful of my local HD stores. This article explains why you don’t see the listings yet https://toolcraze.net/reader-questions-new-spotted-tools-on-home-depot-website-disappearing-why/
How much does the tool box weigh? Wanna use this for my travel tools when I fly.
