New Ryobi 18V Brushless Angle Grinder R18AG-0

A new Ryobi 18V Brushless Angle Grinder has beeen spotted on YouTube model number R18AG-0 .

This is another brushless tool among many that have been announced for the Ryobi 18V system and I’m liking the direction they’re headed by bringing brushless tools to the masses with the usual lower Ryobi pricing.

The video above shows the new grinder and states that the new brushless grinder has corded performance. This should make it similar to other cordless brushless grinders as those are also said to offer corded performance and are very powerful for cordless. The grinder has electronic anti kickback that stops the tool if the blade binds preventing harm to the user. Ryobi’s model uses a slide lock switch and comes with a side handle that can be placed on the left or right hand side but not on top to the gear box.

The video also shows off the batteries we don’t have here in the USA such as compact 2.5ah and 5.0ah batteries. I also want to bring out the fact that because this grinder has a model number R18AG-0, it’s not a USA model. The reason being that USA Ryobi tools usually have their model numbers start with P and are followed by 3 or 4 digits. So my guess is that this grinder is either in Europe, possibly in the UK and or Australia.

I don’t know if this will make it here in the USA but my guess is that there’s a good chance it might.

Thanks to Joshua B. for sharing this tip.

    This has just been released in Australia. Retail is $199AUD so if you get it in the USA I would expect it be $100-$130USD.

    It is a 5 inch/125mm and has a host of features like soft start, anti kickback/ variable load speed, fixtec nut etc.

    Link to Ryobi page for it in Australia;

        Daniel, typing in all caps indicates YELLING and SCREAMING! Also, reading all caps is much more difficult than lower case letters.

    Awesome, I’ll probably pick it up as soon as it’s available because the Ryobi P421 grinder that I have has a poorly designed trigger mechanism. It’s extremely easy to accidentally trigger it while carrying it. I’ve started keeping the battery out of it at all times except while I’m actually grinding with it.
