New Troy-Bilt powered by Core 40V Outdoor Power Tool Line

Troy-Bilt has a new line of 40V outdoor power equipment. However the real news here is the fact that these don’t use brushless motors. Instead, they use what is called “Core” technology with what seems to be a new electric motor tech where they replace wire coils, with an on board circuit board controller that controls the motor magnets. This new tech looks pretty cool and it actually keeps the motor very compact and flat like a pancake. Although being smaller, Troy-Bilt claims this new motor to have power and runtime that rivals gas engines. They also claim that their new motor “when converting energy into torque, loses far less energy in translation to brushless motors” and their 40V battery tools “dramatically outperform’s a unit dependent on 56-80V batteries”. Those are some pretty serious claims if true.

Check out the video below to see their new 40V outdoor power tool line which includes a 40V Blower, String Trimmer, Hedge Trimmer, and Mower.

Also interesting to note is that the new “CORE” technology they are basing their motor tech on, looks to be based on the same tech from Core Outdoor Power tools. My guess is that Troy-Bilt is probably licensing this technology on their new cordless line. Check out the video below to see Core Outdoor Power tools from several years ago.
