Ox Tools is introducing a new bamboo 48 inch mason’s level. Bamboo has long been known for it’s durability, it’s a grass having a long, running “grain” is an incredibly durable, flexible, light-weight material. There’s also no need to oil. Unlike wood, bamboo does not need to be impregnated with oils. Its water resistance is far superior to that of wood. Bamboo will never become soft, waterlogged, cracked or warped even after being left in water for an extended period of time.
This 48” level features two plumb vials and a level vial. The vials are constructed from solid block acrylic vials for increased accuracy over traditional curved vials. It also features aluminum sections over the top and bottom of the level to add protection and strength to the bamboo along with shock absorbing replaceable rubber end caps.

Accuracy and durability are the most important hallmarks of a mason level. OX Tools has addressed both of these with the introduction of their new Bamboo Masons Level.
Bamboo has a tensile strength comparable to steel and when combined with lamination, the level provides exceptional durability and makes clean up easier. In addition, they added extruded aluminum bindings for protection and strength.
Bamboo is not affected by heat or cold like aluminum or plastic levels which tend to expand or contract with the cold, which affects the accuracy of the level.

“Solid block acrylic vials are close to unbreakable – it is literally a block of acrylic with the vial tube machined or cast into the block. The blocks are permanently calibrated and set in the factory eliminating the need for future calibration,” says John Diplock, managing director for OX Tools.
For added protection OX has included shock-absorbing rubber end caps that can be easily replaced. For easy transport the level showcases two smooth and ergonomic hand holds.
