Porter Cable just came out with a new cordless 20V 2 Gallon Wet Dry Vacuum PCC795B part of their growing line cordless 20V line.
It shares many features with it’s sister company Dewalt’s cordless 20V vac such as the same 2 gallon capacity, similar overall body size and functionality as it has the same large handle, all the attachments including the hose have their spot on the body itself for onboard storage, and also has a blower port for use as a blower.
Being a wet dry vacuum, you can use it for the usual dry messes and can also pick up wet messes.
Porter Cable and Dewalt are both owned by Stanley Black & Decker and the reason I bring this up is because the parent company usually places Dewalt as the flagship brand with the best features and performance in their tools, while Porter Cable sits in the mid range spot. You can almost always expect Dewalt to have better this and that but what surprises me is that this Porter Cable vacuum actually has a couple of things that are BETTER than the Dewalt equivalent. For example the performance on this Porter Cable model is very slightly higher with a 34 CFM’s of suction versus Dewalts 20V 2 gal vac that has 31 CFM suction. I doubt anyone might feel the difference but when looking at paper stats, the PC vac wins. The Porter Cable vac also gets a longer vacuum hose of 7 feet 8 inches length versus the 5 foot hose of the Dewalt’s.
Porter Cable barely listed the tool on their website and on YouTube and no retailer sells it yet so I don’t know what the retail price will be or when it will be sold but it should be soon.
