Ridgid WD1022 10 Gallon Pro Pack Plus Wet Dry Vac

Ridgid recently released a video on YouTube about a new wet dry vacuum, the Ridgid WD1022 10 Gallon Pro Pack Plus Wet Dry Vac.

This is a corded plug in vac but what caught my interest is that it has a box design. Ridgid even goes as far as to say that it has a “tool box” design. The flat top design is great as you can stack other items on top which makes it perfect for storage or as a bench for sitting on.

It also has a telescoping rear handle and two rear wheels for easy mobility. This design makes it very similar to Ridgid’s own 22″ pro gear cart which has the same telescoping handle and rear wheel design. The video shows a box stacking on top of the Pro Pack vacuum although it won’t lock on like Ridgid’s 22″ pro storage tool boxes will. The only downside of the 2 wheel design is that it makes the Ridgid WD1022 10 Gallon Pro Pack Plus Wet Dry Vac a stationary vacuum, meaning you won’t be able to tug on the hose and the vacuum follow you around. If you did tug on the cord, you’d end up tipping it over. However the box design with large handle makes it very portable and the wheels and handle make it easy to wheel around when it’s heavy.

The Ridgid WD1022 10 Gallon Pro Pack Plus Wet Dry Vac holds a 10 gallon tank paired with a 5.0 horsepower motor. This design makes it very similar to their previous and current Pro Pack wet dry vac with 4.5 gallon capacity which also sports the same 5 hp. I also like that all the accessories such as hose and nozzles can be stored on the tool itself.

It has a more premium hose than their typical hoses and it extends up to 7 feet and has a 20 feet cord. One feature I found it’s missing is a blower port which comes in very handy at cleaning by blowing away messes.

The Ridgid WD1022 10 Gallon Pro Pack Plus Wet Dry Vac wont come cheap as it’s currently priced at $169 making it one of Ridgid’s most expensive lower end models.
