Ryobi 18V 120 WATT Battery Power Source

Ryobi 18V 120 WATT Battery Power Source

At first glance, it looks very much like their 18V 150 watt inverters so I was trying to figure out what makes this different. It is rated at 120 watt making it less output. The big difference between this and those is that this doesn’t have a 120V AC port. Instead it has a total of 5 USB ports and a 12V DC port making it more of a portable power source. It’s also cheaper as well as we’ll discuss below.

Ryobi 18V 120 WATT Battery Power Source – Features

It features 4 USB-A ports. Two are fast charging 18W and the other two are 5V 2.4A. The 5th is a USB-C 30W PD port for even faster charging. The 12V DC port is similar to the one found on your cars cigarette ports for additional power output options.

So many USB ports means you can power several things at once. There’s also a built in LED light. I don’t expect it to be very bright but good enough for emergency situations.

Ryobi 18V 120 WATT Battery Power Source button & light

Above you can see the LED light and the power button. Unlike Ryobi’s 18V 150W inverters, they’ve condensed the power and light functions into one button to operate both.

On the rear is where you find a tether loop. This is good for lanyards and such.

Ryobi doesn’t mention how you get 120 watts total in their press release so hopefully this is mentioned on the packaging and/or instruction manual.

EDIT 1/20/23:

I reached out to Ryobi asking how this unit is able to achieve 120 Watt total output. Below is their answer:

The 12V DC outlet is the only one that can provide the full 120W output. Here is the maximum wattage output of each USB outlet:

(2) 18W USB-A (Shared)

(2) 12W USB-A (Shared)

(1) 30W USB-C

Thank you Ryobi for the quick answer to this question!
