More Ryobi OPE news and this time with a new Ryobi 18V Expand It attachment capable brushless string trimmer P20110 .
Ryobi has several Expand it attachment capable power heads in gas engine and cordless 40V models but this is the first time I’ve seen them make one in 18 volt. Because it’s part of the Expand It line, it means that you can use any Ryobi Expand It attachments like edger, pole saw, blower, cultivator and even a snow thrower! Just buy the separate attachment heads and off you go.
This power head includes a string trimmer head that features a 13-15″ cutting swath that uses dual line 0.080″ line and a brushless motor to deliver the power via 2 selectable speeds and a variable speed trigger. You get all this and a 4.0 ah battery and charger for $169 which makes it not only lower priced than Dewalt’s 20V XR brushless string trimmer, but the Ryobi is also better spec’d, at least on paper, and gives you the ability to add attachments at any time down the road. The Dewalt has better build quality though but for $169, you’re getting a lot for the Ryobi kit.
