Ryobi 18V Multitool Gen II R18MT-0

I was just thinking about this the other day, about why Ryobi doesn’t have a standalone cordless multitool? I might be wrong about this but the only cordless Ryobi multitool I know about is the Job Plus head attachment but that one is not a stand alone model as it needs either the Ryobi Job Plus base or the Ridgid Job Max base. Either way it’s good to know that a new stand alone model is out with the Ryobi 18V Multitool Gen II.

The new Ryobi 18V Multitool Gen II was spotted in the Ryobi Australia website by Glenn and Aaron. The Aussie variant is model R18MT-0. No word on a USA or Canadian model release but I’m sure we’ll get our own here in North America eventually.

As far as specs go, it has variable speeds, it uses a tool less blade change system, and interesting to note is that the front head can pivot – something I haven’t seen on other multitools. It’s missing an LED light that most new models are coming out with and it uses a trigger to activate the unit, which I’m not crazy about (for multitools) as I much prefer lock on switches. But at least they give you a lock on switch so you don’t get tired.
