Ryobi’s latest way to play your tunes on the go is a new portable compact radio speaker that also features bluetooth connectivity for wireless music streaming. It’s sporting a 3 inch 15 watt speaker that Ryobi says delivers a “cutting edge audio experience” that they say has 4 times improved sound clarity over their previous P742 compact bluetooth radio/speaker model.

This new model is more elegant and aesthetically pleasing than the previous radio bluetooth speaker. This new model also ditches the antiquated looking exterior antenna for an internal antenna and also increases bluetooth range now up to 175 feet. It has an onboard USB port to charge your mobile devices and claims twice as fast charging speeds. They didn’t mention how fast it can charge but the older model did 1 amp so it’s easy to assume this new model goes up to 2 amps. Not the fastest charging speed for modern devices but at least they did increase it. A backlit LCD display and control buttons adorn the top panel of this radio/speaker. This speaker is said to have a runtime of up to over 32 hours of music playtime with a 4ah battery. One thing this model doesn’t have that the previous model had is a 3.5mm aux jack port however since most modern cell phones omit a headphone jack, I don’t think most people would care nowadays. The rear is where the battery is slotted into and above that is a slot that doubles as a carry handle.

Expect this Ryobi 18V compact bluetooth radio to launch October 2022 for $59.97 as a baretool.
