Ryobi 18V Hybrid Whisper Series 14 Inch Air Cannon PCL813B
This isn’t Ryobi’s first air cannon model. The original model was a bigger 18 inch size. They even came out with a misting fan version of the air cannon which was a bit smaller. Though smaller at 14 inches, this latest air cannon model has similar performance to the original.
It’s also part of the whisper series. Ryobi’s line of quieter tools. They claim this whisper series model is 55% quieter and has 35% greater air velocity than the previous model.
That last point confuses me because the original model had more air volume at 2,400 CFM. Unless they are saying specifically this has greater air “SPEED”. That might be the case because they do publish air velocity figures on this newest model but not on the original or the misting fan version.
It has three speeds to select from, high, medium, and low. Rated CFM is 2,300/1,850/1,400 and rated air speed is 790/630/520. Air speed is rated in feet per minute (FPM). There’s a dial on the back of the unit to toggle between speeds and to turn the unit on/off.

It’s a hybrid fan because it can operate on Ryobi 18V batteries and on AC power with the included ac adaptor. This means you can use it out of the box, even if you don’t have any Ryobi 18V batteries. Ryobi says there’s a cord strap for on-board storage.
On top we also see a carry handle for easy transport.
Like most fans, this model can pivot to direct air where you want it. The pivoting head has 225° of range.
It also offers plenty of mounting options so you can use it in a variety of locations.
With the amount of air this puts out, it makes it a great option to dry wet spills.
I use a fan to keep cool when I ride my bike indoors on my smart trainer. This Ryobi air cannon would be a great option for that as well as you need a lot of air volume to keep cool when riding indoors. Users can benefit from a quieter fan as this whisper series as the one I use is pretty loud.

I have the original air canon and really like it but it really goes through batteries. Do we know what the runtime will be for this new air cannon?
