Two new Ryobi 80V HP Brushless Lithium electric riding lawn tractor mowers were announced this week. They come in 46″ and 42″ flavors. Let’s check them out below.

46″ & 42″ Ryobi 80V HP Brushless Lithium Electric Riding Lawn Tractor – 80V Battery Platform
These are Ryobi’s first electric riding lawn tractor mowers. They run on Ryobi’s 80V battery platform.
These are the same 80V batteries that power their 80V zero turn mowers. They use large brief case style battery packs like the one shown above. In fact, these batteries also fit their new 80V 30″ walk behind self propelled mower, you can learn more about it by clicking here.
Each mower comes with three 80V 10ah battery packs. In the front of the mower is a covered battery compartment that fits all three batteries.
There’s additional space above the battery compartment. Fortunately Ryobi thought ahead and includes a removable storage tray to store tools. Both feature an easy access rear charging port that charges through a standard 120-Volt outlet.
46″ & 42″ Ryobi 80V HP Brushless Lithium Electric Riding Lawn Tractor – Features
These new mowers are very similar and come in two sizes, 42 and 46 inch cut capacity. The 42 inch model shown above has two sets of cutting blades and uses a total of three motors. One per set of blades and one to push the mower.
The 46 inch version shown above has three sets of blades. It has a total of 4 brushless motors, one per set of blades and one to push the mower. We also see that each mower powers a set of two blades per each motor. Ryobi calls this their “CROSS Cut” multi-blade system. Each set of two blades has 4 cutting ends that they also call blades.
Both models feature 10-gauge heavy-duty fabricated steel deck with quick-release. And both feature 13-position manual deck adjustments with 1.5″ to 4.5″ adjustable cutting height.
The cockpit is where you’ll spend most of your time while riding these. Behind the sporty steering wheel we find the LCD display and control panel. There you’ll be able to check runtime, battery charge, blade & drive speed, headlight controls, and pair with the Ryobi bluetooth app. It also offers blade check reminders.
46″ & 42″ Ryobi 80V HP Brushless Lithium Electric Riding Lawn Tractor – Performance Stats
Max riding top speed on these bad boys is 7 MPH. The 42 inch model delivers the power equivalent of a 21 HP gas engine and has the runtime to cut up to 2 acres. The 46 inch model is equivalent to a 23 HP gas engine and has the runtime to cut up to 2.5 acres. Both models are said to be able to fully recharge in under 2.5 hours with their included hyper chargers.
There is storage in the rear in the form of an itty bitty lil’ truck bed to haul stuff around.
They also include two 2″ square tow hitches. One in the front and one in the rear. Rear shown above. Each mower has a tow capacity of 500 lbs.
Both models have the ability to be 3 in 1 mowers. Out of the box they are capable of side discharge. They can also mulch and bag but only when you purchase the additional optional kits to bag or mulch.
They have creature comforts such as cup holders, two USB ports, front, side, & rear storage compartments, and headlights to be able to mow when its dark.

Both riding lawn tractors are said to be available Spring 2023. They also certainly are not cheap. The 42″ model RYRM8060 will set you back $4,999 and the 46″ model RYRM8070 will set you back $5,999.
