UPROAR RC Car Uses Ryobi 18V Batteries

Cody Robertson wrote in about spotting a new UPROAR RC car or truck over at the HD Canada website. What’s interesting about this RC car is that it uses Ryobi 18V power tool batteries to run.

It doesn’t surprise me that HD would come up with a product well suited for the gift season with a toy and to mix things up make it powered by one of their power tool brands battery. In fact it even comes with a Ryobi 2 ah battery and charger. This isn’t the first product that’s not a Ryobi product that uses their batteries, if you remember the Arctic Cove misting fan was powered by Ryobi 18V batteries.

  • Speed up to 20 MPH
  • 150 ft. control distance
  • 2-wheel drive with spring suspension
  • Includes: remote control, RYOBI ONE+ 2 Ah battery and charger
  • Powered by RYOBI ONE+ battery

These are also available online from Direct Tools in the US for $99.99.

Craftsman did this several years ago on their 19.2 system for Father’s Day:

I have a couple of them. They work really well for older non-hobby grade rc cars. I was always surprised Ryobi never released a One+ equivalent since they manufactured the craftsman one.

Will the bigger One+ batteries fit under the body on the 2yr old model. Going to replace the batteries and I want some more run time.
