USA Ryobi 18V 4.0 ah & 9.0 ah HP Battery Are Here!

We’ve long covered the announcement of the P194 9.0 ah battery for the Ryobi system for what seems like forever by now and they are finally officially here in the USA! Now you can finally get the same kind of runtime capacity first found on the Milwaukee M18 HD 9.0 ah batteries on the Ryobi 18V One+ system for even longer runtimes. Also part of this news is that Ryobi also released their newest HP battery that comes in a fatpack design at 4.0 ah capacity P192.

These HP batteries are said to offer better performance when paired with brushless Ryobi tools as they offer direct communication between the battery and the tool, but again, expect this claimed performance bump only on their brushless tools. When paired with standard Ryobi 18V power tools, you can expect longer runtime than smaller ah batteries.

Another thing I wanted to mention to those just learning about the new Ryobi 9.0 ah battery is that this battery is going to be large. That’s because the battery contains 15 individual battery cells inside which help it contain more capacity than a standard 5 or 10 cell battery.

A big thanks to Jeremy Jamerson and Aaron for spotting these!

Still “unobtainium” on the Home Depot website when I checked today… Worst product launch in history. How long have we been teased with these??

    • Javier says:

That’s because they haven’t been officially announced by Ryobi. Expect them to announce them sometime in the near future with the product arriving in stores around the same time.
You saw them here on Tool Craze first!

RYobi did release a short teaser YouTube video about the 9.0s back in May or June. And I do remember seeing images of these batteries back in June 2016. Now I do know that you can buy the 9.0 with the cordless shop vac as a kit for $199. Right now that is the only way to get your hands on one.

You can buy the 9AH batteries right now, they are online only right now. You can even buy two of the 9AH and 4 of the 9AH batteries. They even have a bundle with several of the brushless tools.
