USA Ryobi 18V 6.0 ah Lithium+ HP Battery P164 Is Finally Here!

We’ve known for a long time now that Ryobi was coming out with higher capacity batteries and finally after a long wait the P164 6.0 ah battery is finally here in the USA.

This news is thanks to Dave G for spotting it on the HD website. Other than them finally showing up, there’s no new info I can tell you about the new battery except that it has a fuel gauge built in but that was a given. It’s the same size as the current 4.0 ah battery and the new 6.0 ah model differentiates itself with the “Lithium+ HP” wording.

At the time of writing, HD only has them listed as a 2-pack and the pricing is $149 for the set. Not bad! Actually very good price for two 6.0 batteries in my opinion. I also want to mention that at the time of writing they weren’t available to buy online or in store but that should soon change.

With the recent news of the compact 3.0 ah battery and now the 10 cell 6.0 ah, all that’s left is Ryobi’s long awaited 9.0 ah battery. I wonder how soon that one will come out?

    Price just dropped to $100

I bet it will disappear from their site just like the 2.0ah pack did, so i would say by april or may we might see a few hit the shelves in select stores, WAY longer than i thought it would take to get these out.

I called HD.com to ask when the batteries would be available, and they told me that their computer didn’t show an ETA for HD.com to get them in-stock. She told me to contact my local store to see if they could give me more information on availability.
