Worx has announced another new addition to their cordless 2oV Power Share system with the Worx 20V MakerX Rotary Tool & Airbrush Combo Kit WX992L.

This combo kit has two independent tools, the rotary tool and the airbrush tool which receive their power from the MakerX hub which is then powered by a Worx 20V battery pack. Each tool has a 4 foot long power cord that it uses to connect to the MakerX hub. The Maker X hub has a variable speed dial that controls each tool that is connected to it. Because the tools themselves don’t contain the batteries has allowed them to be smaller and easier to wield. This reminds me of my Milwaukee M12 rotary tool which is a great tool in itself however it is bulkier and heavier than a corded rotary tool because of the battery pack and that’s the benefit these tools offer. Similar to what Ryobi has been doing on their recent 18V rotary tools that have a base with a cord connecting them to power them. What’s interesting is that Worx’s rotary tool is powered by a brushless motor and they also include an airbrush tool which is something we don’t normally see in cordless power tool systems.

Although Worx only supplied me with info of the above MakerX combo kit with rotary tool and airbrush, I learned from the Youtube video shown above that the MakerX system actually has 5 tools to start off with. The other three are what they call an angle grinder but is more of a cut off tool that may have limited grinding ability, a heat gun, and a tool that they call “wood & metal crafter” which looks like a soldering iron and is shown doing things a soldering iron does like soldering stuff in the video. We know that these tools work very similarly to wood burning tools in which they operate by providing high heat to it’s tip and can thus be used to burn wood for decorative purposes and is why they call it a wood & metal crafter.

These tools like a good option for any one into crafting and diy projects at home.
