Ryobi 40V Hybrid Whisper Series 14″ Air Cannon RY40HF02B – Features
While Ryobi has had at least two larger air cannon fans under their 18V line, this is their first that I am aware of under their 40V line. It is very similar to the recent 18V 14 inch air cannon in size and design. Of course this new model uses 40V batteries and the color scheme is inverted. On the 18 volt model, the front grill is green and the sides are grey, those two have been swapped on this 40V model.
This 14″ air cannon fan is larger than most cordless fans running on power tool batteries. This means you can expect potentially more airflow than smaller fans. Ryobi states it has 2,000 CFM (airflow) at over 800 feet per minute (airspeed) on its highest setting.
It has 3 speed settings of high medium and low.

It’s also part of Ryobi’s Whisper Series which means that is part of their quieter range of products. Ryobi claims it operates at a max 53 decibels.
At the rear is where you’ll find the 40V battery slot. But it’s also a hybrid tool.
It can also use an ac power adaptor so you can plug it in for virtually unlimited runtime. Speaking of runtime, Ryobi says it can get up to 0ver 20 hours of runtime on low speed. However they do not mention with what capacity battery. The capacity of the battery has a lot to do with how long it can run.
The fan head sits on a support frame that allows it to pivot 225 degrees so you can aim it where you need air. A top handle allows for easy carrying and transport.
It’s a good size without being too big making it great to take with you on the jobsite to cool you down.
It’s also good for drying things like wet paint and floors.
