Even though we had early pictures of Ryobi’s 3 ah compact Lithium+HP batteries, we are now learning that the compact 3.0 ah P191 was just a picture of a what may have been a prototype. Although a 3 ah compact would be great, the real thing is a 10 cell fatpack. The fatpack batteries should benefit from better heat management and longer cell life as each cell will have to work less hard for the same output from the pack. At the time of writing the 3.0 ah P191 battery is sold in a variety of kits so there should be some good deals to be had. After reaching out to ryobi, they told me there was never a compact 3.0 ah battery to begin with, so the 10 cell version is the only one we’ll get, at least for the foreseeable future.
At the time of writing these batteries are not available individually, so here’s the description from the 2 pack:

My thoughts: the 3.0ah would have been great as a compact but a 10 cell fatpack can generally provide more power more efficiently. As for the 1.5ah it’s honestly a bit pricey at $49 but it may come down in the coming months. These both look to be great additions to the Ryobi 1+ line.
