New Cordless Bosch PROFACTOR 18V 8-1/4″ Table Saw

Bosch PROFACTOR 18V 8-1/4″ Table Saw – Cordless

Not all of the major brands have cordless table saws and it’s good to see Bosch come out with one. Actually Bosch hasn’t come out with any new table saw in a long while until now. This new model is a cordless table saw running on their 18V batteries. The Mexican listing doesn’t state if it will run on any Bosch 18V battery. It simply says that it’s “designed to make the most of the additional power generated by CORE18V PROFACTOR batteries”.

Bosch PROFACTOR 18V 8-1/4″ Table Saw – Design

Until now, Bosch’s only table saw option was the corded 4100 model. It’s an oldie but goodie and is clearly showing its age nowadays. Dewalt was the brand that standardized modern table saws with features such as a metal roll cage frame and rack and pinion fence system. Since then, most other brands have followed suit including the new Bosch table saw.

This Bosch also features a sturdy roll cage frame design and rack and pinion fence system. A roll cage frame design is more rugged than a plastic frame in my opinion. And the rack and pinion fence system allows for easy fine tuning fence adjustments. An integrated handle allows for one handed carry.

Bosch PROFACTOR 18V 8-1/4″ Table Saw – Features

Like most cordless table saws, it also uses a 8-1/4″ blade. I was hoping it would use a full size 10 inch blade but no surprise as most cordless table saws are 8-1/4″. Its brushless motor provides 5,500 no load RPM. Bosch states it has corded like performance.

There is a fuel gauge in front above the power switch for easy viewing. It has restart protection so you don’t accidentally turn it on when inserting batteries. It has on-board storage for the rip fence, miter gauge, smart guard system, and push stick.

It hasn’t officially been announced in the USA so I bet Bosch fans are eager for it to come out here as well. Even in Mexico where it was spotted, it isn’t yet available at the time of writing.
