Dewalt DCMW290H1 40V Mower

Just a couple of months ago in October we learned that Dewalt was creating their first cordless mower with the Dewalt 2x20V Max Lawn Mower DCMW22o. That mower was part of their 20V power tool system however it was really a 36V/40V tool because it uses two 20V batteries to double voltage to 40V max (36V). I thought it was a great move since they already have a healthy growing line of outdoor power equipment for the 20V line however their original 40V OPE line wasn’t seeing much new tools. Luckily for that line, Dewalt now was a 40V mower that uses the Dewalt 40V battery packs with the Dewalt DCMW290H1 40V Brushless Mower.

Although technically a new 40V tool, don’t expect anything different as it looks like it shares many of the same parts and features from the original 2x20V mower. From the looks of it, it appears to use the same 20 inch metal deck, tires and wheels, handle bar frame and levers as the 2x20v model. The only differences are a 40V battery holder and color scheme.

I wouldn’t expect any difference in power versus both models because technically both models are 40V. I also want to mention that I’m surprised Dewalt was able to manage to push enough performance into this machine to handle a 20 inch deck as Makita’s 36V mower uses a smaller 17″ deck.

Big thanks to Cody Robertson for spotting the new mower!
