Grizzly G0870 10″ 2 HP 115V Portable Table Saw with Roller Stand Brings Fierce Competition Against Dewalt

When it comes to portable jobsite table saws, Dewalt has been the one to beat and it’s no surprise that competitors like Hitachi and Harbor Freights Hercules brand have brought some competing table saws with similar looks and features of their own. Grizzly now joins the group to battle against Dewalt with their own portable jobsite table saw with the Grizzly G0870 10″ 2 HP 115V Portable Table Saw with Roller Stand.

The Grizzly G0870 10″ 2 HP 115V Portable Table Saw with Roller Stand looks to be aimed directly against Dewalt’s flagship portable table saw model, the DWE7491RS model with rolling stand. Grizzly brings many of the Dewalt flagship portable table saw features to their own model such as a portable metal roll cage design, an included rolling stand, Dado capacity up to 13/16″, on board storage and even offers a rack and pinion fence system for easy and precise fence movement and they do all of this and are still able to keep the initial price lower at $365. However the $365 price is only good if you purchase in their brick and mortar store locations or you’ll have to add an extra $99 for freight shipping if you don’t live near a Grizzly store.

I also wanted to mention that Grizzly’s portable table saw has a couple of features the Dewalt table saw with rolling stand doesn’t offer such as variable speed settings of 2,000-4,000 RPM so you can cut a variety of materials including laminates and plastics as well. It also comes with rear outfeed extension support of 4″ which helps support cutting longer boards. The only feature Dewalt’s DWE7491RS model beats the Grizzly, is in rip capacity as Dewalt’s model does 32.5″ to the right while Grizzly’s has a rip capacity of 28″ to the right. 28″ rip capacity is still 4 inches more than most table saws that only do up to 24 inches.

So far I like what I see and the price is really darn good for the feature set of the Dewalt plus a couple of extras. However if you don’t live near a Grizzly store, the price of shipping brings Grizzly’s saw price close to Dewalt’s model with rolling stand.
