We’ve seen Klein’s flip sockets before with their 2 in 1 design and while they usually come in sets, this model 66080 is a single double sided flip socket that includes an adapter. The flip socket has a 13/16″ penta socket on one side which is good for security bolts that are commonly used in underground distribution work and the other side features a 3/4″ 6 point hex socket, both of which Klein says are two of the most common socket sizes for linemen who use impact wrenches. The flip socket is color coded on both sides for easy identification of sizing. It also comes with a 1/2″ to 1/2″ drive with ball detent which helps prevent unwanted separation from sockets when in use.
“Klein Tools’ new Penta Hex Flip Socket with Adapter is a must have for linemen who use impact wrenches,” says Sean Garvey, associate product manager at Klein Tools. “Not only does it feature both the 13/16’’ Penta and the 3/4’’ Hex socket sizes, but also a 1/2’’ to 1/2’’ square adapter with a ball detent to help prevent unintentional separation from the socket when in use. The socket is designed to be used with an impact driver and is the perfect companion to Klein’s Impact Wrench (Cat. Nos. BAT20CW and BAT20CW1).”
