So we all know what a headlamp is, a head mounted lamp that aids for handsfree lighting so your two limbs are free to work. This light is designed to fit on Klein’s hard hats and safety helmets. But what exactly is an intrinsically safe light? It’s a light that is safe to use where an explosion risk is high such as mines and petrochemical refineries where dangerous concentrations of flammable gases are found. This light’s low voltage nature does not pose a threat of ignition in such environments.

This headlamp runs an LED chip capable of producing up to 216 lumens of brightness and can also be set to medium brightness, and a low brightness of 75 lumens. The lamp head bracket tilts up to 70 degrees on hard hats. In the highest brightness you can get up to 5 hours of runtime and up to 12 hours in low brightness. It is powered by three AAA batteries (included) and the battery compartment requires the use of the included 2.5mm hex key to replace batteries.

The headlamp is IP67 rated for being waterproof and dust proof and with a drop protection rating of  6.6 feet tested.
