A new Makita 18V Brushless 6-1/2″ DLS600Z Miter Saw has been spotted by Instagram user @makitaqld.

Little info is known at the moment but according to makitaqld it’s equipped with a Laser, LED Torch, Automatic Torque Drive, Electronic brake, soft start and a very light weight of 6.6kg with battery! It looks identical to the LS600D we spotted in Japan a year ago. As you can see, it is not a sliding miter saw.

I looked at the PDF manual and it appears that it is identical to the japanese LS600D model.
What’s funny is that the Sydney tools website has the item wrong. Look at the picture.
The picture shows a sliding miter saw with rails BUT if you look at the base, the base isn’t long enough for slide cuts, LOL!
It’s showing some weird frankenstein miter saw that doesn’t make any sense.
The LS600D and the DLS600Z in this page aren’t sliders.
Ah yes it is wrong! I did not even notice! Perhaps they took the pic from a Japanese site and there is another model available there?
