Inspection cameras utilize then cameras and cables that allow you to look into places traditional cameras can’t fit into. That’s where Milwaukee’s M12 M-Spector line of cameras come in. They have announced three new M-Spector cameras today. Two of them are well featured M12 M-Spector 360 models. And the other is a new M12 M-Spector model with stripped down features at a more wallet friendly price point. In this article we will check out all three starting with the M-Spector 360 models.

Milwaukee M12 M-Spector 360 Inspection Camera 4′ & 10′ – Features

The M12 M-Spector 360 inspection cameras are offered in two variants. A 4 foot and 10 foot cable model. Both have some very interesting features.

Milwaukee M12 M-Spector 360 Inspection Camera rotating display

They feature a 4.3″ widescreen LCD display that rotates 360 degrees. This is to help with the orientation of the camera feed. Many inspection cams offer digital rotation which compensates for this but Milwaukee takes it a step further to let you physically rotate the screen to your liking. It also offers the ability to rotate the feed digitally as well.

Milwaukee M12 M-Spector 360 Inspection Camera slim head

The camera head is a thin 10mm meaning it can fit into very small openings.

This is great so you minimize intentional damage. For example you need to drill a hole to get the camera cable into a wall. A smaller camera head means the hole you make is smaller and easier to patch. All you need is a 3/8″ opening to fit the camera into.

The camera and cable are optimized for many uses included in wall and drain applications.

Milwaukee M12 M-Spector 360 Inspection Camera sd card

These inspection cameras have the ability to take and save pictures and videos. They can be stored onto the supplied 32gb SD card which you can easily load onto your computer for documentation.

Milwaukee M12 M-Spector 360 Inspection Camera features

You wont be able to view anything in the dark so these cameras are equipped with tiny LED lights so you can see. They feature 5 mode brightness adjustment. You also have the ability to zoom in with 3 level digital zoom. Digital zoom basically crops in or in other words blows up the image which also degrades the image as you zoom in. The body of the camera has onboard physical control buttons to operate the many features and settings.

Milwaukee M-Spector™ 4’ Inspection Camera (2319-20) – Features

The M-Spector 4′ 2319-20 model is a more wallet friendly model with less features. Unlike the other two, this model does not run on M12 batteries. Instead, it uses 4x AA batteries (included). A great option if you don’t want to hassle with recharging batteries. On the other hand it means you’ll have to deal with buying consumables.

Unlike the other two, this M-Spector model has a fixed position 4.3″ LCD screen that doesn’t physically rotate. It does offer digital 180 degree rotation of course. Though I would have preferred if it gave you 90 degree rotation for more angles.

Milwaukee M12 M-Spector 360 Inspection Camera slim head

The camera is similar in size at 10mm thick meaning a 3/8″ hole is all that’s needed to fit into. This model appears to only have a live view of its camera. It doesn’t record video and no file storage is available to take and store images. This really is a basic inspection camera with what appears to be the bare minimum to be useful. It does feature a camera head and cable similar in features and specs to the 360 models. It is optimized for drain lines and behind wall use and has LED lights and brightness control.

It includes the camera, 4x AA alkaline batteries, plumbing ball attachment, mirror attachment, and tool bag.
