Gen 2 Milwaukee M18 FUEL 6-1/2″ Circular Saw 2833-20 – Features

Milwaukee M18 FUEL 6-1/2" Circular Saw Gen 2 2833-20

Over a decade ago before brushless tools became all the rage, cordless circular saws had blades smaller than 7-1/4″ blades. At best you’d find a models with 6-1/2″ blades if not smaller. This was because the technology wasn’t quite there to handle full size 7-1/4″ blades. That soon changed with brushless motors making more powerful cordless saws that could not only handle the full size blades but even compete with corded saws in raw performance.

Now that performance is no longer an issue, manufacturers can go back to the smaller 6-1/2″ blade not because of power constraints but to make a more compact and lighter tool but without sacrificing power. Enter the Milwaukee M18 FUEL 6-1/2″ circular saw 2833-20. This is actually Milwaukee’s Gen 2 model as they’ve had a M18 FUEL model already with the same size blade. It weighs in at just 6.1 lbs baretool.

Not only is this model stronger than their previous M18 Fuel 6-1/2″ model, but Milwaukee boldly states that this new 6-1/2″ model is the fastest cutting in its class! No doubt thanks to its brushless motor that increases RPM to 6,000 RPM, a thousand over the original model. Milwaukee says this saw has a peak power of 1500W!

Cut depth increases to 2.25 inches at 90 degrees. Which is more than plenty for cutting 2x material in one pass.

Which is also good for cutting stacks of sheet goods at once.

Other features include a hang hook, LED light, electric brake, and all magnesium blade guards and shoe. The upper blade guard also has a side dust chute to help clear away dust as you cut.

Runtime is good and can get up to 300 cuts with a XC6.0ah battery.
