Ryobi 1800W Portable Battery Power Station RYi1000 – Features

Ryobi 1800W Portable Battery Power Station RYi1000

This appears to be Ryobi’s third 1800W portable power station. It’s true they’ve come up with two previous iterations powered by their power tool batteries. Either 40V or 18V. However this new one isn’t powered by power tool batteries but instead has its own internal battery. This means you don’t have to fuss about with a small army of individual batteries.

Ryobi 1800W Portable Battery Power Station RYi1000

This portable power station provides 3,000 starting watts and 1,800 running watts. This means it can run just about anything and is great for an emergency power outage. Or good for camping or tailgating as well.

It has a 1094 watt hour capacity and Ryobi says it can run a full size fridge for up to 10 hours or a 55 inch LED TV for up to 8 hours. 1094 watt hour capacity is similar to having seven 8ah 18V batteries and one 4ah 18V battery if you were running on the similar 18V portable power station.

Ryobi 1800W Portable Battery Power Station RYi1000 – Front Panel

The front panel is the business end of the tool. There are plenty of outlet options to plug and run things. Such as 3 120V AC ports to run household appliances. Ryobi says it has pure sine wave so it can run sensitive electronics.

There are plenty of USB ports with 4 USB-A ports (oldschool style) and 2 USB-C ports.

You’ll also find a backlit monochrome LCD panel that shows remaining battery in time remaining and percentage. It also displays the output watts. So lots of info if you like to geek out on that stuff.

It also has an LED light towards the top of the front which is perfect when a power outage leaves you in the dark.

The unit comes with a 270 watt AC Charger and protective cover.

It also has the ability to link two of these portable power stations together for twice the power output. You’ll need to optional parallel kit in order to do so. I noticed the LCD display auto orients itself upright when the unit is on its side so you don’t have to turn your head sideways to read.

This portable power station also features Bluetooth connectivity for use with the Ryobi GenControl app to monitor one or two stations at a time.

What battery chemistry is being used in this power station?

      Hello Drew,

      Good question.

I didn’t see any mention in the press release of what type was used, so my guess is as good as yours. Possibly good ol’ tried and true lithium ion but just my guess.
