Milwaukee M12 Brushless Rotary Tool – Features
This year Milwaukee updated their original M12 jigsaw with a new Fuel brushless version. We also learn that they have updated the original M12 rotary tool now with a new brushless version. What are rotary tools for? A Dremel is a rotary tool. They are good for cutting, sanding, grinding, polishing, etc but on a small scale. It’s basically a shrunken down die grinder.
While all Milwaukee Fuel power tools feature a brushless motor, not all Milwaukee brushless power tools are Fuel branded tools. Milwaukee saves the Fuel branding for their best of the best. However non-Fuel branded Milwaukee brushless power tools are still solid tools in their own right.
The biggest upgrade to this new M12 rotary tool model is the brushless motor. It is variable speed of 5,000-27,500 RPM. Though the max RPM is actually lower by 4,500 RPM than the original, we can expect more performance out of the brushless model as Milwaukee claims it has best in class application speed.
This is thanks to its ability to maintain more power under load and claims 30% faster RPM under load.
The brushless motor isn’t the only upgrade. It also has an integrated collet wrench just below the collet. This alone is a big feature so you don’t have to worry about losing your collet wrench or having to go fetch it each time you want to swap out accessories. It also has an integrated LED light at the front.
Just like the previous model, it can also support thread based rotary tool accessories.
Instead of using a variable speed dial as before, this new model uses buttons to increase or decrease RPM.
