Milwaukee M12 & M18 Cable Strippers

Milwaukee has announced two new cordless cable strippers in M12 and M18 varieties. Both of these are able to strip 1/0 – 750 MCM Cu & Al THHN/XHHW Cable and strip 1/0 – 500 MCM Cu RHW/RHH/USE Cable.

I like that they give you the ability to choose your preferred platform as some like myself may prefer the M12 system simply for size and ease of use while others may simply prefer the M18 range and the user can choose either without having to sacrifice performance.

The compact right angle design keeps either tool relatively compact making it ideal for tight spaces, enabling easy access to strip cables in crowded panels and have some nice safety features to boot such as having no exposed blades, protecting against knife injuries on the job. Also, the tools optimized bushing design prevents nicks.

The Milwaukee quick change bushings are specific to cable types for both commercial electrical and power utility applications. The Copper and Aluminum THHN / XHHW bushing sets range from 1/0 to 750 MCM cable sizes, and the Copper RHW/RHH/USE bushing set is 1/0 to 500 MCM. All Milwaukee Bushings are compatible with both M18 and M12 Cable Strippers.

The M12 cable stripper will be available in September 2019 and the M18 cable stripper will be available in November 2019.
