Back in March 2023 we learned about the existence of the Ryobi 18V mud mixer. Not much was known about it at the time other than it was coming this summer. Ryobi has now officially announced the new 18V HP brushless 1/2″ mud mixer and with more info. Let’s check it out below.

Ryobi 18V HP Brushless 1/2″ Mud Mixer – Features
Mud mixers are great for mixing drywall mud, they are purpose built to do so.
But the use cases don’t end there.
They are also good for mixing concrete, thinset, and grout and have the power to do so even on filled 5 gallon buckets.
As you would expect, these are geared with lower RPM speeds for added torque. Usually around 550-650 RPM. However it’s interesting to see that Ryobi’s version goes up to 800 RPM which should help speed up things.
This mud mixer is part of their 18V ONE+ system meaning it’s powered by their 18 volt batteries for cordless convenience. It has two side grip handles and accepts mixing paddles using a keyed 1/2″ chuck. The key is included and has onboard storage.
It uses a variable speed trigger along with a total of 6 selectable speeds.
There’s a two speed selector switch above the chuck on the die cast metal gear case.
The right handle has another three selectable speeds for a total available 6 speeds to choose from.
Ryobi says it can mix up to 30 buckets per charge with the 4ah high performance battery although no mention of what type of material being mixed and how much of it per bucket.

It will be available July 2023 for $199 as a baretool PBLMM01B and $269 as a kit PBLMM01K1 with charger and a 4ah high performance battery.
