Milwaukee announces new M18 Fuel 1/2″ controlled mid torque impact wrench models with torque sense. They offer repeatable controlled torque. Let’s check them out.

Although these controlled torque impact wrenches can be used for multiple applications, Milwaukee had the solar industry in mind when marketing these. They say these offer confident installation and a 3x faster install process. This is because Engineering, Procurement, and Construction (EPC) companies often use the “2-step method”. This involves using an impact driver to fasten a bolt down and then followed by manually torqueing the bolt down with a torque wrench. Milwaukee’s M18 Fuel controlled impact wrench models handle both steps in one process and one tool.

Milwaukee M18 Fuel Controlled Torque Impact Wrench – Features

The Milwaukee M18 Fuel controlled torque impact wrench models offer two models. A mid-torque model and a compact impact wrench model. They offer programmable torque ranges with 50-250 ft-lbs for the mid-torque model.

The compact model features a programmable torque range of 50-150 ft-lbs.

The offer 4 programmable torque settings. These can be programmed through the ONE-KEY app. Once set, they can be selected from the mode select button at the bottom of the tool. ONE-KEY functionality allows you to customize, track, and manage your tool wirelessly through the app.

The top of the tool features LED indication lights that provide users with immediate feedback in application.

Though the controlled torque impact wrenches come in two sizes, the also offer varying anvil options. The both the mid torque and compact models offer friction ring and pin detent 1/2″ anvils. The compact impact wrench model also offers a third option of a 3/8″ friction ring anvil.

The compact models will be available in October 2023 while the mid-torque models will be available in December 2023. They will be priced at $1,299 and 1,399 as baretools for the compact and mid-torque models respectively.
