Milwaukee M18 Fuel Blower Gen 3 3017-20

It’s been many years since the introduction of Milwaukee’s cordless outdoor power tools. Now we are witnessing their M18 Fuel blower model Gen 3 for 2024 and it’s their most powerful single battery blower to date! This new bad boy puts out 500 CFM at 120 MPH thanks to its brushless motor. Of course it isn’t their most powerful model as their dual battery blowers take the crown in this department. Their latest dual battery backpack blower puts out a whopping 650 CFM at 155 MPH, check it out by clicking here.

With 500 CFM at 120 MPH it will make for a good option for blowing leaves whether wet or dry, and on grass or hard surface. Milwaukee says it puts out 12.2 Newtons of blowing force and is able to get to full speed in less than a minute.

It’s also very quiet for a blower at a rated 54 decibels per the ANSI B175.2 Noise Standard. This means compliance with any current noise pollution laws that pros must adhere to according to Milwaukee.

My Thoughts:

It’s always exciting to hear about new tools when they are announced. The same is true here, especially since is Milwaukee’s strongest single battery blower to date. However as a tool blog, it’s my job to list both the good and the bad of the tools I talk about.

No doubt this new blower is well made and strong however Milwaukee is holding back with this model. This is made evident when we compare it the also recently announced Ryobi 18V HP Brushless 510 CFM blower. That model is rated at a higher 510 CFM and higher 130 MPH. The Ryobi also has an major added feature which is a two speed selector to optimize between max power or max runtime. This new Milwaukee blower does not have this two speed feature. The Ryobi has better performance on paper and more features and it also costs less at $149 baretool. This means you are paying more for less with the Milwaukee.

Also Milwaukee and Ryobi are under the same parent company TTI so no doubt they have access to the same or similar technology. Tech that could have been put in the new Milwaukee blower shown in this article. So while the new Milwaukee M18 Fuel blower Gen 3 is no doubt their best single battery model yet, it’s too bad it doesn’t at least match or best Ryobi’s latest 18V model in both features and rated performance. What do you guys think?

  • Variable Speed Lock: Yes
  • Length (Tool-Only): 33.7”
