Makita 40V XGT 2 Gallon Quiet Series Compressor Ac001GZ

While most contractors are using cordless power tools, many are still running air powered tools. Makita now offers a cordless compressor so you have a battery powered option to run all of your pneumatic tools.

Thiscompressor runs on Makita’s latest battery system, the XGT 40V max system and thus uses a 40V max battery to operate. This means you can work without needing to plug into the grid. You can work when there is no AC power and you also don’t need a generator either. You just need fresh 40V batteries to keep on going.

This air compressor features a 2 gallon tank. It’s rated at 1.2 CFM at 90 PSI and provides a maximum pressure output of 135 PSI.

This is a quiet series compressor with low noise at a rated 68 decibels loudness, although no mention of what distance loudness was measured. A tool that was measured at 5 feet away at 68db is much quieter than a tool measured 20 feet away at 68db for example.

Makita says it is up to 10 lbs lighter than similar compressors in its class. It weighs in at 20.7 lbs without battery which should make it easy to carry.

All of the controls and dials are on the front for easy access to tank pressure, regulator pressure, knob, hose connector, bleed valve, tank drain valve, and power switch. It has a metal roll cage design for high durability and the battery installs on the rear side.

It features a brushless motor and runtime is said to be able to drive up to 700 finish nails with a 40V 4.0ah battery. It’s also said to be able to refill up to 20% faster than competitors models.
